We now know that there are 2 separate Nicola Sturgeons - The one who is inattentive at home and never visits the kitchen and the one who is super attentive on party finance and/but blocks all discussion of this matter with other concerned party members. You might think that Ms Cherry and others in the so-called 'awkward squad' might have been more insistent on having the books opened to them even although they had been assured that the party finances were 'fine, just fine,' but that's political life. I do think this is the biggest scandal since the Parnell case and I have no confidence that it will all come right in the end. But we stagger on.

Very good piece. We use those stove coffee makers too. I think they make the best coffee, as long as you don’t scald it. And waiting for the pot to boil is all part of the ritual. I prefer them to coffee machines in a domestic setting. Obviously no good for a coffee shop.
Thank you for your knowledgeable post on this current topic. There is one idea that puzzles me.
My late husband was a professor of law teaching students at a local university. Yet the Sheriff of the High Court could not deliver the divorce documents for more than a year! Hidden by his colleagues?!?! So when I offered to publish certain details on the back pages of a popular newspaper he suddenly arrived at the Sheriff's offices to sign and pick up the papers.
He would disappear for weeks at a time and today (decades later) we have never been able to discover where he was nor what he was doing (he never even arrived for any changes of clothing). But, he was medically diagnosed as a psychopathic who hated women!
My point is simply: even in a marriage so much is hidden from the wife while he is enabled by outside people.
This is the story of the century! trump corruption is huge and in your face, this is a chain of small disgusting hypocrisy, theft, fraud, misrepresentation, theft, contempt , growing on a bed of parochial sanctimony where thousands of people foolish and idealistic enough to worship a ‘parcel if rogues’ or a series of petty criminals and liars to feed like vampires from the lifeblood of my country and my people .
